He is an accountant with experience working with several leading banks in Liberia, including Ecobank Liberia Limited and United Bank of Africa. Before immigrating to Canada, he worked for the Government of Liberia at the Freeport of Monrovia and Ministry of Finance and Development Planning for several years.

He holds an undergraduate degree in accounting, with an emphasis in economics. He completed his graduate studies in finance at the Cuttington University Graduate School in Monrovia, Liberia. Sethelo is blessed with two beautiful girls, Melvina and Sethelia.
